This is the wonderful
Italian wedding of Greta & Niccolo who celebrated their marriage at the
Grand Hotel Bristol on Lago Maggiore in Italy. Greta and Tobiah had been friends on Facebook after they and their families met on holiday just over 11 years ago (!) and it was lovely to for them to meet up again and for us to photograph their wedding. We also had a great time with them on their pre-wedding shoot which you can see
here if you missed it. Nicco and Greta’s wedding was so much fun from beginning to end and here are just a few of some of our favourite photographs from their day.
In the morning we went to Greta’s family home just outside of Milan to capture the bridal preparations after we had arrived back from the hairdressers with the bride and her mum. Greta looked so beautiful and elegant, she had added a few variations to a
Vera Wang gown to make it unique to her and now that she was in her dress, friends and family came to the house to have a little something to eat and drink before heading to the ceremony. The morning was so relaxed and we were made, as always, to feel very welcome.
Niccolo was a little less relaxed when we met up with him before the ceremony but still looked super cool. He wore a black dinner suit with a black ceramic bow tie – the coolest thing we’ve seen EVER – that he’d bought from
Cor Sine Labe Doli
It was soon time to head over to the beautiful venue on Lago Maggiore in Stresa. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the Italian sunshine before we took some family photographs and a few of the bride and groom before dinner.
Dinner was an event in itself! I think we counted 7 courses and all were delicious. As music played through the dinner, a few spontaneous dances and a flash mob or two took place! We visited the stunning lake for some more portraits of the bride and groom and then the guests headed out on to the lawns for the deserts and coffees as the sun set.
A friend of the couple had made a film for them which was so touching/funny/emotional to watch. After it had finished the dance floor was soon full. Even a couple who were staying at the hotel but not a guest at the wedding were encouraged to come and dance!
We had an amazing time at this Lago Maggiore wedding. We said our goodbyes at about midnight and headed back to our hotel. The next day we took to the road to visit Verona and Venice for a few days. Definitely la dolce vita!
Grazie Nicco & Greta!
