Victoria Warehouse Wedding Photography
Meet Jess and Stu. What can we say? From the moment we met them to chat about their wedding day plans (and also cover a range of other topics, including Mexican wrestling!) we got on so well and were thrilled they chose us to photograph their Victoria Warehouse wedding in Manchester last month.
Our day started and finished at Victoria Warehouse and there were lots of amazing bits in between. First of those, was catching up with the ladies getting ready in the morning. We also loved seeing the lovely and superbly talented Lucinka Hodnett who was responsible for making up all of the bridesmaids and our lovely bride. As well as Lucinka, we really enjoyed spending the morning with the awesome ladies of So Glamorous Hair & Beauty in Northwich who perfected everyone’s hair dos and were a delight to work alongside.
We had photographed one of Jess’ best friend’s weddings last year, so watch out for some familiar faces from Lucy & Charles’ Cheshire farm wedding!
Before long, Tobiah headed across to see the groom and his groomsmen in Levenshulme. Jess and Stu have such a cool house and great taste in wallpaper (as you can see) and it’s always nice to have some photos in a place that is as sentimental as your first home together. The gents soon made for Victoria Warehouse and had a few photographs outside with Tobiah. Meanwhile, Laura was still capturing the ladies’ final stages of getting ready and then it was time to wait for the guests to arrive!
It’s an extra exciting feeling when just meters away from the room our bride was waiting in, you can here the chatter of guests as they all met in the bar before everyone was seated for the ceremony.
After the bridesmaids had made their entrance, Jess’ adorable dad, Howie, walked his daughter down the aisle to meet Stu. Jess and Stu had chosen to have a humanist ceremony which was so personal and perfect for them. With a couple of readings from their dearest friends and after (literally) tying the knot, the new Mr & Mrs A were followed out by all of their family and friends who were keen to give them lots of hugs and congratulations. This is always one of our favourite parts of the day to photograph as it makes for lots of opportunities for natural wedding photography. After a little while, we took Jess and Stu outside for some relaxed portraits. We loved using the architecture of the warehouse and the unique spaces outside but we never like to keep our couples away from their guests for too long so after about 30 mins, we headed back inside. The space where the ceremony had taken place had been transformed for the wedding breakfast. Three long tables, each named after one of the Golden Girls, were filled with doilies and poker chips (for the lucky dip after the wedding breakfast!)
Between courses, Jess’ dad, Stu and best man Jon gave their speeches. Stu has a fear of pigeons so it was unsurprising that this would be mentioned in Jon’s speech! Only, he went one further by projecting a huge photograph of a pigeon and then wearing a pigeon mask for most of the speech!
Once the guests had picked out their lucky dip favours, it was time to cut the cake. And what a cake it was! The Little Button Bakery had created an amazing homage to 1980s TV show, The Golden Girls. It was certainly a one-off!
For the evening reception, a photo booth and glitter station were set up and then, there was a surprise guest! Anyone who has ever watched Britian’s Got Talent will undoubtedly remember the awesome Davros! He instigated a sing-a-long of Beautiful South’s “You Keep It All In” and a conga! Every part of Jess & Stu’s Manchester wedding was unique and wonderful. We had a blast! Please enjoy looking through their Victoria Warehouse wedding photographs below.
