It is always so lovely when a couple were guests at one of our weddings and book us for their own special day. Laura and John were guests at Becky & David’s fabulous summer Lake District wedding a few years ago where we first met.
Laura used to live and work in New York City and John in London. This made their pre-wedding photo shoot in London extra special! Before their wedding, Laura was to make the move back to London so this was the city they where would finally be together after a long time apart.
Their Yorkshire wedding took place in September 2015. We travelled to our brides family home in Aldwark, Yorkshire. This was just a stones throw away from the church where her and John would be married in a few hours time!
The morning preparations went smoothly, especially as Mum had been out to fetch morning coffees!
Tobiah ventured out in the drizzly rain to meet up with John and his gents at the local pub, always a popular choice of location for the guys to settle any pre-wedding nerves!
Laura stayed with the bride and her family and took lots (and lots) of photos of the bridesmaid’s super cute baby boy!
As Laura was helped into her dress by her lovely mum, the butterflies started! She looked so amazing and everyone was fighting back the tears. The wedding cars were ready to roll and it was time to head to the church. As the church was so close by the faint sound of the ringing bells could be heard very soon into the short journey to St. Stephens.
The ceremony included readings by the couple’s nearest and dearest and soon they were Mr & Mrs!
Time to head to one of our favourite Yorkshire wedding venues, Rudding Park. The sun had began to shine and the guests all boarded a vintage red bus to take them to the venue. After collecting a glass of champagne on arrival, the guests and our newlyweds spilled out into the beautiful grounds at Rudding Park. After capturing lots of natural photographs of guests chatting, laughing and hugging their bride and groom, we stole John and Laura away for a few photographs of just the two of them. We then did some family photographs before everyone was seated for dinner. The wedding breakfast room was beautifully decorated and soon filled with the chatter and laughter of John and Laura’s guests – the perfect atmosphere.
After dinner, speeches and dancing it was time for us to say our goodbyes. Special thanks to Rudding Park who always look after us so well after time we visit but most importantly, thank you to Laura and John for choosing us as your Rudding Park wedding photographers. We loved every minute!
