Delyth & Craig’s beautiful autumn wedding took place in early November at the stunning Nuthurst Grange Country Hotel. It was our first Nuthurst Grange wedding and we loved it. The unique space of the Stable Barn Suite and the grounds filled with colourful trees in all of the delightful colours of the season made this Nuthurst Grange wedding a special one.
Our day began at The Aviator Hotel in Sywell where we had stayed the night before. This may seem a bit of a random place for us to stay as the bride was at Nuthurst Grange, the ceremony was being held there and so was the reception. So why did we stay somewhere that was over an hour away from the wedding venue and further from our own home? Our groom, Craig, and his best man had stayed at The Aviator Hotel too the night before with one very good reason. Not only is it a really cool hotel decorated with ex-aeroplane interiors but it’s next door to Sywell Aerodrome. Any ideas yet? Well, rather than taking a car to Nuthurst, Tobiah, Craig, Steve took to the skies in the most amazing helicopter! Meanwhile, Laura had taken a more humble journey up the M6 to catch up with the beautiful bride, Delyth and her lovely family. After hair and make-up had been perfected by Sarah and little champagne sipped, our bride then enjoyed a less than traditional activity on a wedding morning – a game of Top Trumps! It would be fair to say that Tomos is possibly the most brutal component beating both his mum and aunty Ceri in back to back rounds! But he’s so adorable so we’ll forgive him!
As the ladies and Tomos were enjoying some lunch in the bridal suite, the sound of a 3 tonne helicopter approaching took everyone out onto the balcony! Tomos made the mistake of taking his cheese sandwich along with him which soon was torn in half by the wind that was whipping around the building. Time to go inside! Although, Craig is a helicopter pilot himself, he left the flying to his very good friend, Gary. You couldn’t be in safer hands than someone who is an air ambulance pilot! Once the boys had made their way out of the helicopter, Laura realised that the pilot was actually her Mum’s cousin! A joke in the family is if there is ever a helicopter mentioned or spotted Laura’s nan thinks going to be Gary! This time she was right!
Delyth had chosen a gorgeous wedding dress and Rainbow wedding shoes. Before long, it was time to get married! Craig and Steve, along with all of their closest family and friends were seated in the Stable Barn as Delyth and Tomos walked across from the house with mum, dad and bridesmaid, Ceri. The ceremony was emotional and featured two lovely readings. Once promises had been made and the marriage register signed the newlyweds enjoyed drinks and canapés with their guests before going for a ride in the helicopter! Accompanied by Tobiah and Tom, they flew over some spectacular places, even Warwick Castle, before making their descent back to Nuthurst. Once back on the ground, we stole them away for a few photographs in the grounds before the family photographs began. Everyone was enjoying the entertainment provided by Sebastian before they were seated for dinner. We loved the warm, vibrant colours used in decorating the wedding breakfast room. Each guest, instead of favours, had had a donation made on their behalf to two special charities, the Royal Air Ambulance and British Heart Foundation.
Once the guests were seated in the Stable Barn Suite and the new Mr & Mrs P had entered the room, the speeches began. The perfect combination of sincerity, a few tears and a tale of an under-cooked chicken that nearly killed the groom (maybe slightly over-exaggerated) – the speeches were awesome.
Time for the dancing! Delyth & Craig had chosen one of our all-time favourite wedding bands, The Rush for their evening entertainment and they ROCKED it! Lead by the ultimate frontman, Mr Gavin Jones, the Rush are one of the very best bands in the industry. Testament to this is how they can transition between a Kings of Leon track and ‘Regulate’ by Warren G! Genius. We said our goodbyes to head up north having enjoyed an amazing day with so many loving people. We even caught up with two lovelies whose wedding we photographed 4 years ago, Gary & Helen! Thank you so much to Craig & Delyth for choosing us as your Nuthurst Grange wedding photographers, we had a blast!
