At the end of September as the leaves were starting to turn, we had the privilege of photographing the lovely Southport wedding of Charlotte & Matthew. After meeting in university and falling in love, they chose to marry at church and then held their wedding reception at the beautifully versatile Meols Hall in Churchtown.
Our day started with the girls at the Ramada Plaza Hotel before Tobiah left to see the boys. The talented and charming ladies of So Coco Rouge were on hair and make-up while the bride-to-be and her maids sipped champagne and enjoyed the best picnic hamper! One of Charlotte’s close friends had filled a wicker hamper with homemade treats and lots of delicious sandwiches and snacks which was such a sweet idea. The time was approaching for Charlotte to put on her delicately beaded wedding dress, always an exciting moment!
After a few portraits of our bride on the balcony overlooking the sea, Charlotte’s dad entered the room to see his daughter for the first time on her wedding day. We are as unobtrusive as possible at this point so as not to detract from such a precious moment. Usually at least one of us is hiding behind a curtain or something!
The time had arrive for everyone to head to the church. Matthew and his groomsmen were ready and waiting when we arrived and Charlotte wasn’t too far behind.
The ceremony was lovely and the readings the couple had chosen were perfect for the occasion. Once the marriage register had been signed, the new Mr & Mrs exited to a shower of confetti before everyone made their way to Meols Hall.
We love the adaptable and romantic space inside the Tithe Barn at Meols Hall, Charlotte and Matthew had chosen a rich and vibrant colour scheme that made such an impact against the exposed brick and soft candlelight inside the barn. Pam and Sue are two of the most amazing ladies that we’ve met and it is always a pleasure to see them each time we return to be a Meols Hall Wedding Photographer.
As the everyone enjoyed canapés and champagne, we captured the newlyweds chatting and laughing with and being congratulated and kissed by their closest family and friends.
We went with Charlotte and Matthew for a few relaxed wedding portraits around the grounds of Meols Hall before the family photographs.
We are always happy to take as little or as many group photographs as our couples like but find that less is more. This means more time for you to be with each other and your guests and allows us to focus on capturing people being themselves through natural wedding photography. A photograph of a loved one giving your hand a squeeze or throwing their arms around you after you’ve just got married are the moments we love for and love to capture.
Back to Charlotte & Matthew! After a group photograph of all guests (with Tobiah standing on a 7ft wall!) it was time to be seated for the wedding breakfast. The speeches followed a delicious menu and then it was time for some dancing!
As we said our goodbyes we left a busy dance floor and a very happy bride and groom!
Thank you to Charlotte & Matt for choosing us to photograph your Meols Hall wedding. Please enjoy the photos.
