Hedsor House wedding photography by Tobiah & Laura Tayo. We had the great pleasure and privilege of recently photographing the elegant of E & C in Buckinghamshire.
You may recognise these two lovely people from their pre-wedding photos in Oxford we photographed back in April. As a city close to their hearts, it was not surprising that our couple decided to marry at University Church in the heart of Oxford.
Let’s rewind to where our day began. We met our bride along with her sister, bridesmaids, mum and some friends at the stunning Danesfield House Hotel & Spa in Marlow-On-Thames. The bride and her maids wore brightly coloured floral robes as they were getting ready together, sipping tea and enjoying some breakfast. We always enjoy photographing the wedding morning and sensing the excitement and anticipation for the day ahead. There is always a lovely atmosphere and this day was no different.
Meanwhile over in Oxford staying at the iconic Old Bank Hotel with his best men and ushers, our groom was getting ready. This part of the day was covered by talented photographer, and our now good friend, Kent Wedding Photographer – Richard Ware. As well covering as the groom’s preparations in Oxford, he also photographed with us for the rest of the day. It was great to have him along with us and he contributed some of the brilliant photographs shown below.
It was soon time for the wedding ceremony in Oxford University Church of St. Mary the Virgin. As the bells rang and guests were seated in the pews that were lined with fragrant flowers, the bride and her proud father, along with her bridesmaids, flower girls and page boys, were ready and waiting to walk down the aisle.
The ceremony was graced by readings given by close relatives and friends and some ethereal performances by the amazing choir. There was also a little laughter (from the bride expecting the vicar’s usual line of “you may kiss the bride” too early! Although perhaps this time, the phrasing could’ve been changed to “you may kiss the groom”!)
After the ceremony the happy couple walked out of church and were showered by confetti thrown by all of their guests who then all gathered along with the bride and groom for a group photograph. This was taken by Tobiah, after a fair climb of some 127 stairs winding up the church tower, from the balcony at the top of the church. The bride and groom left Oxford in their vintage Rolls Royce wedding car and headed to for their wedding reception at Hedsor House.
Once we arrived at Hedsor House, we took some portraits of our bride and groom in the bluebells lining the drive up to the beautiful house.
The glorious weather enhanced an already fabulous setting for the champagne reception on the lawns at Hedsor. The soundtrack for this part of the day was provided by the immensely talented Urban Blue band.
It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and guests were seated in the lavishly decorated Ballroom. Everything looked amazing – from the very smallest of details to the grand table centrepieces.
After dinner followed the speeches and then cheeses and Port served in the Drawing Room. The food served in the evening was as unique as it was delicious! Two vintage Citroen vans were parked at the entrance to the house, one serving the most fantastic burgers (Cheeky Burger, London) and the other delicious crepes. One more surprise remained for the day that had been arranged secretly between our bride and wedding planner extraordinaire, Ruth (of Finesse Planning). Guests were asked to gather at the front of the house and suddenly all of the lights, inside and outside, went out. A power cut? Ready for fireworks? No! A giant projector that had been stationed in the car park suddenly lit up the entire frontage of Hedsor. Music and sounds boomed as the projections changed and moved across the building. This was the first wedding, possibly the only one, to have a giant red robot shooting lasers from its eyes and setting parts of Hedsor House on fire!
Hats off to The Colour Project for this amazing display.
The remainder of the night stayed on a high with dancing, cocktails and amazing music.
Thank you so much to our bride and groom for having us to share in their fabulous Hedsor House wedding. A special mention once again to Ruth Hunter at Finesse Planning for planning this spectacular day with so many unique and individual touches. We would highly recommend her and her team to help plan your special day.
