We love a Winter wedding and this one was certainly one of our favourites! Two wonderful people surrounded by their families tied the knot in the iconic Manor house earlier this year with such a great team of suppliers on board. We absolutely loved being a part of it and working alongside some of the best. We hope you enjoy looking through their Thornton Manor wedding photos below.
Firstly, our morning began in the Thatched Pavilion where Emma and ‘Team Bride’ were getting ready together. Two marvellous ladies from Flossy & Leigh were taking care of hair & make-up while Emma’s two adorable nephews were outside playing ‘Pooh Sticks’ with their dad. It was such a lovely morning and the excitement went up a notch when Dougie arrived to move the ladies across into the main house!
Tobiah and the awesome Tom of Tom Harrington Films went over to see the boys who were getting ready in one of the cottages. Alex had chosen such a cool wedding wardrobe! Gucci loafers and accessories from Liberty set off the thoughtful gift he received from his bride-to-be!
Emma had chosen the most gorgeous, heavily beaded Anna Campbell gown from Jean Jackson Couture. It was such a beautiful dress and as you’ll see below, Emma looked amazing wearing it! Speaking of which, once everyone had settled in to the Lady Lever suite, it was time for our beautiful bride to get into her wedding dress. With some help from her mum and sister, Emma was soon ready to head down to the ceremony to meet her groom. With finishing touches of a veil added, some block heel Chanel pumps and a spritz of Acqua di Parma Iris and it was time to go!
Meanwhile, downstairs in the ceremony room, the dashing groom was waiting for Emma to make her grand entrance. The marvellous design and hard work from Frog florists in Manchester could be seen throughout the Manor but we loved the huge foliage displays in the ceremony room. Emma and her mum’s walk down the aisle was a little different than expected! Walking towards the guests along the tree lined aisle outside certainly made an impact but so did the gust of wind that blew Emma’s mum’s hat off! Undeterred they carried on to the top of the aisle and the ceremony began.
After readings and vows exchanged, Emma and Alex left the Dining Room at Thornton Manor as husband and wife. As they enjoyed a glass of champagne and a couple of minutes alone together to soak up all those just-married feelings, the guests filed outside armed with confetti ready to greet them.
Enjoying the canapés and champagne back inside, the wonderful atmosphere was filling the house and our bride and groom were being congratulated by all of their lovely guests. The weather was not very nice to say the least so we took shelter upstairs on the landing for the group photographs. After a few family portraits and some relaxed ones of our bride and groom, it was time for the wedding breakfast. The seamless team at Barretts took care of everyone (including us two!) so well. After plates were cleared, it was time for the speeches. With a bit of audience participation from the stag do, there were plenty of laughs and some tears as well during Emma’s mum’s speech and her big brother’s too. The Marie Curie daffodil badges were worn by everyone in memory of Emma’s dad who sadly had passed away but it was nice to hear lovely memories being shared by some of those who loved him most during the speeches.
After a little time to relax and some more photos of the groomsmen and Alex and Emma and some of her best friends, the time had come for the dancing to begin! We love seeing that one song at weddings that sparks excitement amongst a group of guests with a clear understanding that a certain dance move or routine is about to happen! This is exactly what went down when Will of Six15 Events played ‘Proud Mary’!
Such an amazing day with this loving and gorgeous pair and some of our wedding buddies that make our job even more awesome. Thank you for choosing us to be your Thornton Manor wedding photographers and to the wonderful Dougie and Danielle at Thornton Manor too for looking after us!
