This wonderful Yorkshire wedding took us to the grand and very beautiful Allerton Castle for the first time and we certainly hope to be there again soon – what an amazing place!
We arrived early to have a look around and choose some great photography areas for later on that day.
We then went up to the amazing Palace Suite to capture some photographs of the dress and details. The Palace Suite is such an opulent room and so provided a fabulous backdrop for Li Yen’s UNBELIEVABLE dress.
The sun was shining and soon our bride to be along with her bridesmaids arrived to finish getting ready. They traveled to Allerton Castle with hair and make-up extraordinaire, Lauren Sally Bridal & Photographic Make-Up Artist, after having their hair put up and pinned at her home.
The handsome groom and some of his family and friends he arrived at the castle so Tobiah went to catch up with the gents while Laura stayed with the ladies.
After make-up had been perfected and lunches enjoyed, the ladies got into their stunning gowns and it was soon time to head down the grand staircase into the Great Hall for the Allerton Castle wedding ceremony!
Li Yen’s dad was more than a little emotional upon seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time and has to leave the room! We always love seeing a father’s “first look” on the wedding day and capturing that moment. After composing himself and once the bridesmaids had made their entrance it was time to go!
You could hear the gasps as our stunning bride came down the staircase with her proud dad and up the aisle to meet her groom. The ceremony was short yet very sweet and then it was time to head into the balloon-filled garden and grounds for the drinks and canapés reception.
The weather was magnificent and added so much to an already great atmosphere with some guests meeting for the first time and others catching up, all while enjoying some champagne. Perfect!
After we’d taken a few family and friends group photographs we stole our newlyweds away for a few portraits before going back in to the decedent castle for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
The Ballroom at Allerton is such an amazing space for a wedding breakfast and with floral centrepieces in soft pastels gracing the tables against the royal blue walls it looked extra pretty today.
After the speeches and toasts, the guests and the happy couple soon took to the dance floor! We had such an awesome time at this Allerton Castle wedding and hope to be back soon. Congratulations to Li Yen & Andy!
