London Wedding Photographer – Pre Wedding – L & J
It was our great privilege to journey down south a couple of weeks ago to photograph the wonderful London pre-wedding session of Laura & John. Laura & John were guests at a lovely, garden wedding we’d photographed at Silverholme in the Lake District (feel free to jog your memories here).
We were so looking forward to this pre-wedding shoot ever since we’d arranged it. It took an extra level of planning for us to pick a day to suit as Laura and John both work in banking for the same company, just in different continents! Laura lives and works in New York City and John lives and works in London. The ever changeable weather even decided to behave itself; for most of the day, at least!
We met Laura and John at “their” Tube station – Angel in Islington. It was here, after catching up, that our shoot began. Heading down into the Underground, we stopped to take a few shots on one of the escalators. Needless to say there were lots of people travelling up and down on the working escalators either side of us yet this didn’t phase Laura & John – they were total pros!
Next, we moved down on to one of the platforms – of course, you can’t go to the London Underground without using some of the iconic tube stop signs! We walked along one of the pretty canals in Islington – Laura’s old route to work – snapping away as we went before getting a cab across to Tower Bridge. From there we walked down to a little cobbled street just tucked away near Tower Bridge before getting into another cab over to Tate Modern and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Thank goodness for comfortable shoes and the Uber app!
St. Paul’s provided a stunning backdrop for photographs and even looked pretty as the grey clouds started looming. Thankfully the threatening clouds didn’t burst with rain and we moved on to our next location with Laura & John, Westminster. Westminster is one of John’s most favourite buildings for obvious reasons and so we spent a little time here, although battling against the wind that was whipping up across the Thames.
St. James’ Park was next on our whistle-stop tour of London before we headed back to Angel.
We so enjoyed this London pre-wedding session with John & Laura and can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Rudding Park later this year.
