Leagha and Owen staged their fabulous wedding their home city of Liverpool and it was an honour for me to be their wedding photographer. We started the day photographing the bride & grooms preparations. Leagha getting ready with her girls at the Radisson Red hotel and Owen getting ready with the guys at the Hope St Hotel in Liverpool city centre. It was a relaxed yet fun filled morning and I really enjoyed capturing the preparations along with my second photographer who photographed the guys as they went for a pre wedding drink. Owen looked sharp in black tie whilst the Leagha looked absolutely stunning in a beautiful wedding dress made of lace and adorned with many beads, hand crafted by Demetrios. She actually chose this designer as her mother had also had a wedding gown designed by Demetrios! How special!
Their wedding ceremony was held at Liverpool Cathedral’s Lady Chapel, an intimate space adorned with beautiful stained-glass windows and intricate stone carvings. Liverpool Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of Christ, is the largest religious building in Britain and the fifth-largest cathedral in the world. It was designed by architect Giles Gilbert Scott taking over 70 years to complete. Today, it is a magnificent example of Gothic Revival architecture, drawing visitors from all over the world and such a stunning backdrop for Liverpool Wedding photography.
After the ceremony, Leagha & Owen were showered in confetti by their guests and we had the opportunity to take photos of the couple inside the cathedral. The grandeur of the building, with its towering arches and beautiful stained-glass windows, provided a stunning backdrop for the wedding photography. The sheer scale of the cathedral made it easy to capture the beauty of Leagha and Owen love for each other.
The couple then moved on to St Georges Hall for their drinks reception and wedding reception. St Georges Hall is an iconic Grade I listed building located in the heart of Liverpool city centre. Built between 1841 and 1854, it is renowned for its stunning architecture. What an amazing backdrop for their wedding photos. These have to be among some of my favourite ever couples portraits.
St George’s Great Hall was the perfect setting for Leagha and Owen’s wedding reception. How grand it looked! The guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast punctuated by heartfelt and emotional speeches. The day was full of entertainment and the guests even enjoyed a dance between courses of the wedding breakfast.
For the evening wedding reception, Leagha changed into an evening wedding dress. We always think this is a great idea! Who doesn’t love two dresses! We slipped away for a few minutes to take some relaxed couples photos of Leagha & Owen at none other than Liverpool Lime St Station! This was so fitting as Leagha & Owen first met on a train and so it made the perfect location to end their day.
If you are planning a Liverpool Cathedral or St Georges Hall wedding, we would love to capture your special day. Don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your wedding photography needs.
