Get comfortable everyone! This is the UNBELIEVABLE Iscoyd Park wedding of Claire and George. We love a winter wedding but a winter wedding at Iscoyd, one of our favourite wedding venues, is like a dream.
We arrived early to have a little scout around the venue. Although we have photographed Iscoyd Park weddings many times before, in different seasons and in different weathers, we always like to see how areas for photographs work on the wedding day itself. Plus, it was a very frosty morning and due to be pretty cold throughout the day so we wanted to have some key areas in mind to minimise guests having to be in the cold for too long!
Claire and her bridesmaids and mum, Jackie, where getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite with the help of Maxine Morgan on hair and Harriet from Sorelle on make-up. Claire had lovingly made so many things for the big day including the personalised gift boxes for her bridesmaids, little hangers for everyone’s bedroom doors, a donut wall (you have to see it to believe it!), golden animal place card holders and so many other pretty touches. Tobiah headed off to see the boys who were staying down the road before they made their way to the church.
Mat and his team from Red Floral had decorated the aisle with stunning blooms and candles. They had also set up the marquee at Iscoyd Park with the most gorgeous theme! Imagine a golds and botanical wonderland with blush pastels and hundreds of flickering candles and as you’ll see below, it was even better than anybody’s wildest dreams. But back to the girls! The bridesmaids wore the most beautiful, shimmery Dessy dresses with white feather shrugs to keep away the winter chills. Claire was helped into her elegant gown by mum, Jackie, and then had a few moments with her lovely dad as we headed back to the church to await their arrival! As the faint sound of the wedding car was heard in the distance, we gathered outside with the bridesmaids and flower girl as the beautiful bride arrived. Claire looked so radiant and after a couple of deep breaths was ready to walk into church to meet her handsome groom, George, at the end of the aisle. Readings, hymns and even a solo from one of the ushers featured in the ceremony and the wonderful choir of Audlem Voices!
After being showered by confetti and lots of hugs and kisses, the newlyweds made their way back to Iscoyd Park to enjoy champagne and canapés. Starting off the proceedings by pouring the first bottle of champagne into an impressive fountain that had been set up in the drawing room, Claire and George then enjoyed time with their guests before we started the group photographs. We’d picked an area outside ahead of time so we could keep everyone outside for as little time as possible! Theory and practise can sometimes work a little differently but the roaring fires inside Iscoyd welcomed everyone that had braved the cold once again before long!
After some portraits with their bridesmaids and groomsmen and a few on their own, Claire and George made their much anticipated entrance into the marquee for the wedding breakfast to begin! The decor and scale of arrangements by Red Floral was amazing and certainly created an impact! Speeches by the father of the bride, Clive, and George and his best men (including a sneaky recording of George singing a Ronan Keating classic!) were followed by a delicious wedding breakfast by The Fine Dining Company.
After dinner, the room was changed around a little to showcase yet another of the unique and magical touches Claire had created – the donut wall! Accompanied by a custom ice sculpture holding glittery bottles of prosecco, fruits, Chambord and cake stands filled with piles of wedding cake, this was one of the best tables we’d seen! Hundreds of Krispy Kremes and a ‘Pimp Your Prosecco’ station is most people’s idea of heaven. It certainly proved very popular with all of the guests.
The dance floor was busy too with guests busting a move to the Dexter wedding band and we loved the alternative LOVE letters from The Word Is Love that we’re showcased on the dance floor.
From start to finish, we had an amazing day with Claire and George and their lovely families. They certainly know how to throw a wedding! Congratulations to you both and we hope you love the photos as much as we do.
